Kenneth is running over 1,800 miles from Washington D.C. to his hometown of San Antonio, Texas, with one goal: to raise awareness and funding for "Families in Recovery," the first program of its kind to offer residential treatment where families can stay together while parents work toward long-term recovery.
Title: The Long Road Home
Synopsis:
Kenneth Anderlitch is a resilient San Antonio native who has faced more than his share of adversity.
When Ken was 19, he lost his mother to a drug overdose. A tragedy that cast a long shadow over his life. Kenneth battled with drug and alcohol abuse for years following this devastating loss, struggling to find his footing in a world that often felt unforgiving.
But in 2016, Kenneth's life took a dramatic turn. Entering into long-term recovery with the help of a few caring strangers, he is now eight years sober and bringing hope to those struggling with addiction.
In "The Long Road Home," produced by Trust The Process Films and White Cloud Media Group, Kenneth will attempt to run over 1,800 miles from Washington D.C. to his hometown of San Antonio, Texas, with one goal: to raise awareness and funding for "Families in Recovery," the first program of its kind to offer residential treatment where families can stay together while parents work toward long-term recovery.
Ken will meet with local agencies addressing homelessness and addiction and plans to meet with fellow survivors as well as those still fighting for sobriety, shedding light on the true impact of this crisis on families in communities across America.
This film aims to break the stigmas around addiction, instill hope, encourage dialogue, and mobilize support for those battling addiction.
